View on Top of The Rim... Priceless! |
Attractions
Payson beckons the great outdoors in all of us. The Rim Country is
surrounded by the Tonto National Forest. There is plenty of trout
fishing lakes, hiking trails, camping areas and facilities. We have also
enjoyed taking our boat out to Roosevelt Lake the largest man-made lake
in Arizona just a short 40 minutes south of Payson.
Payson also boasts of the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park, the
world’s largest travertine bridge. It is a great place to take the
family and hike!
Heading east on Highway 260 toward the famous Mogollon Rim you can
stop off and visit the Tonto Creek Fish Hatchery and have lunch in
Christopher Creek a beautiful small community nestled in the pines just
off the beaten path. Keep going to the top of the Rim and the views will
take your breath away.
Stop off for a picnic at one of the 7 rim lakes on Rim Road that
connects highway 260# with highway 87#.
The scenery in Payson and the Rim Country never seems to get old to
me. There is always a new trail to hike or a place to visit! What’s
there to do up here! I say everything that has to do with living!
